Teach Me To Talk

With 3 children, I have 3 different speech learning process. Each of these I think are interesting to study.

At the time, she's like baby Yudhis in General who learned to talk with the "language of the planet". He called us with the title "mother and Mr. yaya aang". When Tata, he did not pass through a phase of it. So he could talk, the words that came out perfect with the letter "R" a very clear, such as "Hello Princess, ' how are you?"

Now, there's an Ambassador who started learning to talk. The current age of 2.5 years old but still very little speech. At first we were not too feel it a strange thing. We thought, maybe he's just lazy just because his son is indeed basically quiet. At the same time, many children's best friend for the rest of our Ambassadors have been very "ceriwis" either by the language of the planet or talk properly and completely such as Tata.

A few weeks ago when the Ambassador of pain doctors suggested to Ambassador saw a nervous child to a specialist to see if there is something that makes the Ambassador failed to talk. Fortunately, as ambassadors of our healthy and do some stimulus to the Ambassador, he then gave a positive response. He started off talking and even involved in the conversation.

Since then I increasingly believe that the child is in need of a good stimulus. I can't just rely on the belief that "one day he'll talk kok". However, the stimulus was important. In the case of an Ambassador, maybe our preoccupation make her a little less terstimulus than his brothers ever.

Here is a snippet of stimulus to help children learn to speak are adapted from the book "Teach Me How to Say It Right: Helping Your Child with Articulation Problems" by Dorothy p. Dougherty.

1. are you a model?

Demonstrated how to speak properly in children. Experts believe that you should not use "baby language". For example, it is much better to say, "this botolmu Sister hungry," rather than, "sister aus Yes, ni otoynya". The language used is clear, natural, and most important of all "speak the language properly". Before your child is talking, he'd listen to everything you say and how you say it.

2. do you go into your child's world and follow him?

When children begin to communicate with you, fokuslah on the words and objects that are important to his life. For example, if it refers to a squirrel running around the tree, don't talk about the dog across the street. Talk about the squirrel. For example, say "see a squirrel, she has a bushy tail"

3. is there a dance melody in your baby's brain?

All people know that instinctively calming fussy babies singing. Psychologists believe that music improves brain development started since the early months of life. By exposing your child to music since the beginning of her life, you can improve its ability to understand information, hear the difference in sound, and stimulates the ability to repeat the words he heard. Many a child's favorite toy to play music, and he will probably enjoy listening to the radio, or your, since you're humming, whistling, or singing your favorite songs.

4. are you part of the action?

When you play music, sing, sing and laugh, show that you enjoy it and be a part of that activity. Even though your baby is unique and can enjoy a wide variety of music, some experts think that the new baby was born most entertained with soft soothing music, including songs by the bed, soft blues, ballads, and songs of the people. When your child is sitting on your lap, he can enjoy and listen to you sing more joyful songs, like "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Many of the songs feature lyrics adapted to the movement. Show your child with actions and words that you enjoy your time together.

5. do you play with the sound?

Since the beginning, give your child the experience of listening to different voices. Hear the difference between votes, or auditory discrimination, have a relationship that is important for learning to say sounds correctly and learn to read. Please comment on the noises around you. Say, "listen for a ticking clock," or ask, "what is the sister heard the sound of the plane? His voice is loud once "talk about sound to your child when he made splashes in the bathtub, handclaps, and have him spill. From the pan with a spoon, or drop the blocks into empty containers that are different are made of plastic, metal, or cardboard. Talk about the difference in voice that sounds when the beam fell into place respectively.

6. do you make eye contact with your child?

Make eye contact before you start talking to your child. Make it a habit calling his name rather than just "Hi" or "listen," to attract the attention of an older. If your child looks away, calling her name again to see if he was interested in continuing to play and talk with you. Use only one name is used consistently because some experts believe that using more than one name (Tom, Tommy, Thomas) can confuse a child at an early age.

7. do you use words that clearly?

Speak clearly and slowly to your child about what is happening around him. If you are speaking at a slow pace but comfortable and say it clearly, it would be easier for him to learn to speak clearly. Also, use short sentences and phrases, so that he can understand the grammatical rules more easily. However, do not leave the complex sentence completely. Research has shown that children who are exposed to the sentence that contains complex words (such as "due" and "who"), learn to express these words earlier than children whose parents rarely use those words.

8. repeat, repeat, and repeat

Play the same game and sang the same song over and over again. Your child will soon learn to anticipate the words and gestures. At about six months, your child usually has a favorite book. Despite reading the same book four times in one morning (at the request of your child) may be exhausting for you, but the repetition would strengthen his studies. Reading the same words over and over will help him learn to make connections between words as he heard and saw the pictures. A child must hear a word many times and understand its meaning before he would express it.

9. do you recognize and create learning opportunities?

Visit a Zoo, aquarium or museum, will give your child a wonderful opportunity to learn about the world. Unfortunately this can not happen every day. Therefore, it is very important to learn to recognize the hundreds of opportunities that are all around You every day to improve your child's speech and language learning. The ability to talk and language learning is not an activity that requires your special time each day, but it is a thing that happened all day in a simple form. The most important is the attention. Speak with your child every moment of everyday life.
